HEAD COACH - PAUL CADE

Coach Paul Cade has been the Summer Camp Director at Muskoka Woods Camp since 2016. Prior to taking on this role, Paul had extensive experience working with kids and youth as the camp’s Athletic Director and during his 6 years working as a full-time youth pastor in Oakville and Ajax. Paul has a passion for developing young leaders for today and the future.

Paul’s basketball experience is equally impressive. Paul played for a travelling AAU team in high school and started his CIS basketball career in 2004 with the Dalhousie Tigers. In 2006 he transferred to Humber College where he was named Rookie of the Year on a Hawks team that went 13-2. The following year he was named team captain; a position he held for two years. In 2007 Coach Paul was part of the camp staff at the P.H.A.S.E.1 Rising Stars Camp in Toronto where he worked along side Steve Nash, Denham Brown, Rowan Barrett and Leo Rautins.

This is Coach Paul’s 5th year coaching youth basketball, his 4th year with YNBA.

Coach Chris is currently the Head of Music at Sir William Mulock Secondary School and has been a high school music teacher with the York Region District School Board for over 21 years. His bands and choirs have earned gold awards at national-level competitions. In 2025, his ensembles brought home three gold awards from the Con Brio Music Festival in Whistler, and his choir won both the national CBC Music Class Challenge and the SING! Canadian A Cappella Championships.

Chris was recognized with the Ontario Band Association's Excellence in Band Development Award in 2025 and previously received the Conducting Excellence Award in 2012 and 2016. He was a YRDSB Teacher of the Year finalist in 2017 and received a YRDSB Staff Excellence Award in 2019 for his support of students and staff across the board.

This is Coach Chris’ third year with YNBA. He lives in Aurora and grew up in the Newmarket area, attending Stuart Scott Public School and Newmarket High School. He began his coaching journey as head coach of the Junior Boys Basketball Team at Emily Carr Secondary School and is “Learn to Train” certified through Ontario Basketball (NCCP #6757947).
